Love Is Madness

Love. I’ll let you know now that this isn’t the first time I’ve talked about this subject and most likely won’t be the last. The last time I spoke of this, it started off about my brief past to later talk about someone I had a lot of feelings for, but nothing ever happened there that I had no problem moving on from. If you don’t already know, I’ve had my taste of boyfriends all throughout high school but nothing ever lasted. After I graduated, I made the choice of taking a break from guys. I didn’t completely shut out the idea of dating. Just wanted that time off to focus on me more for a change. So far for a good 4 years since I’ve started college, I’ve done pretty well focusing on me & further loving myself for I believe in order to fully love another person, you must first love yourself. I’m an optimistic person but sometimes I fall hard that most people don’t ever see. I tend to fall in love easily & when I think things are going well, it somehow just s...

Why 'In The Thrill Of It All'?

As you may see coming into my blog, the title. You may even be wondering, "Why?" Well, I'll tell you. The phrase itself is part of both a song and latest album by Sam Smith called "The Thrill Of It All". If you listen to the song itself, it's about getting lost in love and how it affects us as humans whether the person is right for us or not. In that aspect, this represents me for I'm quite the hopeless romantic. Whenever I think something is going right, reality slaps me in the face. But the phrase means more than that. Love is a big part of what makes me who I am, but love isn't the only thing. My life as a whole has shaped me who I am from the day I was born to the moment where I'm sitting here typing this blog that you're reading. 12 years of soccer, 7 years of concert/marching band, countless minutes of music, endless studying for school, earning my high school diploma, reaching for my bachelor's de...

New Music? Sign Me Up!

Thursday, up to the strike of midnight, there was a huge blast of new music. A variety of artists released singles, as well as full albums, they were greatly proud of for their fans and the world to hear. Sadly I can't name every single one, but I'll name some of my favorites. 1. Sam Smith - "Too Good at Goodbyes" After being on hiatus for a year and having not released an album since 2015, he has come back to bless our ears again with his beautiful music starting with this single off his second upcoming album, which has not yet been given a title, but has been rumored to be released "before Christmas". It's a slow, yet upbeat song, along with a small choir, singing about his struggle with a lover where even if the love is there, he'd rather let them go to stop the ache of trying to make the relationship work, for the other continues to hurt him time and time again. In an interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1 radio, Smith stated that...

The Space Between Us

Sun and Moon live together in the same sky. Sun shines brightly, creating what is day, and what is known by many, if not all. Then, there is Moon, it too shining brightly, creating what is night. It is known by many, but not truly seen or embraced by all. Moon is not seen very often along with Sun for they are opposites in time and distance. During the day, Moon isn't completely invisible. If one looks close enough, it is patiently waiting to be known, noticed, loved, as one gives to Sun. There are those rare special days where both Sun and Moon become one, united, together. They have everyone in awe of their beauty, uniqueness, and rarity. Sadly, that precious moment gets cut short and it's back to normality, but a memory is created, physically and mentally. What if normality can change and create something even more beautiful? Two opposites becoming one despite the impossible.

Love's A Lotto

L O V E Fragile. Dangerous. Confusing. Fulfilling. It's something that makes us feel human, satisfies when we need it, but hurts when it's lost. There's love towards many things such as nature, animals, music, and the like. Romantic love between two similar, yet very different people is the trickiest of them all. I have been single for 4 years, but I have to say it's been a somewhat refreshing 4 years. In high school, I had a few boyfriends that I do regret having, but I got to learn a lot of things from them that I didn't notice at the time. When you're young and naive, you feel like you're on top of the world and nothing bad could possibly happen. WRONG. It doesn't happen for every situation, but not everything is rainbows and unicorns. There are things you learn in the process that you wish you never knew or felt. Ever . In every relationship I had, I was the one to break it off. They we...

Lost Yet Found in a World of Words

They say that the eyes are the window to the soul. Poetry on the other hand, I see it as the door to one's mind. It could be written on a variety of subjects; the most popular being love. Others do it to just relieve the pain they feel inside that no one else could ever understand or they write what they want others to hopefully understand. _______________________________________________________________ I wrote poetry in high school since that's when I really felt a wanting to write for I never really had anyone to talk to about my feelings besides my parents. Although I knew a lot of people, I never really had a " place " for I would always migrate from group to group. I used to always see that as a bad thing, not belonging with anyone for long periods of time, hung out with teachers rather than my own friends or classmates, feeling alone, but in the long run, it was actual...
