Family is Everything

Many people have objects that they cherish most such as a book, a charm, or even a stuffed animal. For me, it's not just one simple thing.

For me, family is everything.

By family, I don't necessarily mean just the people I'm blood-related to.

As many may not know, I am an only child.

Being an only child can have its pros as well as its cons.

Living with just my parents sometimes felt like what some would say "lonely", but I actually grew to love it. Yes I sometimes wish I had a sibling or two, but my closest friends became the siblings I never had. You get to have fun with them when you can, but you don't get constantly "annoyed" in their presence. 😉

Or like me, maybe you do because they love you that much.

I've never felt more blessed to have the parents I have now. They've been through so much in their lives that they teach me to better mine. They're hardworking, disciplined, trustworthy, educated, and all around the most amazing parents ever. They are my foundation. Despite any obstacles, they are always by my side. I've never felt more blessed.

There are a good bunch of my friends I like to consider as my family because through thick and thin, we have each other. Of course in time sometimes these "friends" leave our lives, leaving us hurt and vulnerable, but the ones who are there for you during those hard times are who you should hold on to and cherish the most. People like them don't come around very often.

Not only do I have good friends here in the states, but overseas as well. They add to my foundation and keep me standing strong.

Without my parents or my best friends, I don't know where I would be today. I'm sure I wouldn't have been sharing this with you all if they weren't there that's for sure.

Be grateful of the people in your life, not just the people who are here for you now, but even to the ones who left. They've helped mold you into the stronger individual you are today. Because of them, you were able to learn from your mistakes and grow from them. And thanks to those people, the people who matter in the present, help to further better your future.
